On Thursday, September 21st, Monotch will air a webinar in which Steve Schneider, Managing Director at ITS mobility and René Fritz-Mekas, Business Development Manager DACH at Monotch, will address the German-speaking audience on how to minimise most obstacles.
German, Austrian and Swiss organisations involved in smart mobility will hear their region’s latest update on C-ITS. Additionally they get an insight into how the future might look once overcoming the hurdles.
Knowledge sharing on Cooperative Intelligent Transport System
ITS mobility is the largest competence cluster for smart mobility in Germany. More than 200 members from the economy, science, federations, cities and communities belong to the non-profit association based at the Research Airport in Braunschweig, Germany.
This association focuses on future mobility and innovative technologies that will make traffic safer and more efficient. They aim to connect business and science in this field and bring experts together.
Steve Schneider, Managing Director at ITS mobility since 2015, has gathered much knowledge on the C-ITS status quo in the German-speaking corridor. “I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge with the webinar audience on September 21. Besides the information from our German association, we have also gathered insight from the other ITS DACH associations. This will allow me to not only share the past and current situation but also helps to paint a picture of the outlook of the future in this region.” Steve confirms.
Overcoming the starting hurdles when implementing C-ITS
As Business Development Manager DACH for Monotch, René Fritz-Mekas has had many conversations with public and private organisations on implementing C-ITS. From all these talks, he has gathered the most often-asked questions these organisations have on how to get started with smart mobility system deployments.
“From my experience, I know that many of the perceived hurdles can be taken away immediately. Others need some more attention but have a clear pathway to getting solved. Using the knowledge and experience, Monotch has gathered from the many platform implementations they’ve done throughout Europe, I will happily share the lessons learned.”, René says.

This time, Monotch chose to have a focussed webinar for the professionals that work in or with the smart mobility industry in the DACH region and to have this in German as well. This allows for covering specific topics that only relate to the countries in this region, such as local data sources and authority’s responsibilities.
