NordicWay 3 is a European C-ITS pilot project that enables vehicles, infrastructure and network operators to communicate safety hazards and other information from roads in the Nordic countries between different stakeholders.
Monotch has recently joined this exciting C-ITS programme.
Scandinavia develops C-ITS
The Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden have decided to develop their C-ITS cooperation. Initially, that started with the NordicWay project and continued with the NordicWay 2 project. And now, through extended joint pilot activities, they move on within the “NordicWay 3 – Urban connection” project.
Deploying essential C-ITS services
Formed by Ministries and Road Authorities, the proposed project will deploy (studies with pilots) innovative, essential C-ITS services. The project is a collaboration between public and private partners in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In this project, the achievements of the previous NordicWay projects are continued.
NordicWay 3 kick-off
At the recent kick-off meeting in Stockholm, all involved parties presented their suggestions. This resulted in an initial division of tasks and workgroups. Monotch has joined several workgroups, including the Interchange node and the traffic signals workgroup.
Sharing C-ITS knowledge
We will contribute the knowledge learnt in previous ITS projects such as Talking Traffic, Intercor and Concorda. During the following months, further finetuning will ensure project success in the future. Stay tuned to our updates, and we’ll keep you posted on the progress of this NordicWay project!
